Pushing the Envelope

I was reading the NY Times this past Sunday and came across and article in the business section by Damon Darlin that addressed the rate of change in business today that calls for us to refresh our 'screen' faster and faster.

In this article I read this important quote:

"Creative destruction has such a cataclysmic sound. But the term...(is) used to show how capitalism destroys companies as more innovative ones succeed, describing a process that is more like a slow-motion train wreck."

To prove his point, Darlin offers up Kodak as a living example:

"Kodak saw digital photography coming. Kodak just misjudged how fast consumers would give up on film and start snapping up digital cameras. And it misjudged its ability to outrun both trends."

What trends in our own creative worlds have we misjudged today? Where do we need to employ some 'creative destruction' proactively before the market does it "to" us?
