A professor friend of mine challenged his audience recently by suggesting that American Christians need to use the word impossible a lot less. For instance, it is impossible to provide clean water to all the people of the world. Due to new technology available today, we have plenty of money in American pockets to lick this problem. But it would cause a sacrifice on the part of many folks to pull this off, which would require a conscious decision for us to have less so others can have more. Therefore, my professor friend suggested, we need to not treat this problem as an impossibility, but as a situation which would require sacrifice. In this same spirit, I love it when new breakthroughs in design allow us to do things that were hitherto impossible. So may I introduce the QuaDror, a new space truss geometry designed by Dror Betenshreit, which allows emergency housing to be shipped quickly and economically to whatever spot in the globe needs it.
The QuaDror Home is a kit which includes instructions and tools and joints which allow things like bamboo and wood to be attached to it, creating a durable, cost-effective structure. See! Things aren't as impossible as they sometimes seem!
What 'impossible' tasks are you facing right now? What creative solutions could you bring to the table that might address these tasks and projects? Who could you bring into the party to help you dream big dreams?
