Creatively Spilling Forth

The sculptor Jaume Plensa said that 'with only 26 characters you can create the world.' In this picture you will see one of our creative team artists, Greg Needels, standing next to this enormous iron sculpture by Plensa (currently on display at the Nasher Sculpture Center in Dallas). It is of a contemplative man, created from interconnected letters taken from eight different languages which stretch all the way down to the ground, spilling over onto the pavement.

Jonathan and I strive to read, watch and listen to a variety of musicians, speakers, authors, composers and comedians. We read widely from a broad platform of books and magazines (Ryan owns a Kindle - Jonathan would sooner die!) We work actively to maintain our creative edge. We try every week to do something creative that is not connected specifically to any of our creative projects. We seek out opportunities for continuing education in the arts, so that we can maintain a high level of originality in our work, and because we love doing those things.

Our goal is to have MORE than enough ideas...because we realize that with only 26 characters you can create the world. What may strike us as a very simple idea may be the key to unlock the solution to the riddle, and so we seek to continually 'pack our pipe' with new material that we hope will keep us productive for many years to come.

What are you doing to stoke your own creative fire?
