Antique Archeology

I am a HUGE fan of the American Pickers TV show.  I enjoy all of those types of shows, from Antique Roadshow to Pawn Stars to Storage Wars, but I ESPECIALLY enjoy America Pickers with Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz.

They have my dream job!  I would love to travel around the country and pick from various locations.  LOVE IT!  This Summer while the kids and I met my parents in Nashville, TN, we all went to visit their new store in Historic Nashville.

I must admit that I was hoping for more.  There are some really great pieces there, but they all serve as a backdrop, props, ambience.  There ARE a handful of antiques for sale, but nothing you have seen picked on the show.  And honestly, the items there don't even reflect the TYPE of items that Frank and Mike pick.

They do have some tremendous show merchandise (although it IS a bit pricey) and my son loved the Picking for Children guide that Mike wrote.  And whoever decorated it did a GREAT job.  But it is hard to find and really, a very short stop.  I can't imagine anyone would spend more than about 10 or 15 minutes in there.

So, if you love the show, and want to purchase some cool show merch, staged in a dramatic way, then make sure to schedule a stop on your way through America's Heartland.
