'Rachel Handler is struggling to say something funny or perhaps amusing or at least clever about horses. Her mind is empty. She can't recall the last time she was on a horse or even saw a horse. The minutes fly by. Horses are nothing to joke about.' (NY Times, 05-29-11)And neither is your problem. Or my client. Even when we are trying to be funny. The topic is still serious. And so is the accompanying deadline.
Today I feel dry, spent, creatively. Pressures of life are drowning the creative juices. I am reminded that mathematicians and physicists usually make any important discovery they are destined to make in their field by the age of 30, because after that, they are established in their routines, their way of thinking, and the priorities of life have left far less room for those monumental discoveries.
So, let's breathe. All together now. In. Out. And lets make at least a little room for our next great idea to be born!
